I’ve always got a few projects going at the same time; it keeps me bouncing around a little and I don’t finish anything as quickly as I’d like, but it all seems to hold my attention.
Well, things have changed a lot in the past 12 months; I moved 2800 miles west to Eugene, OR and, having been here a little more than eight months, it’s turned out to be a really good decision. I think I can safely say it was a Total Reboot. Sometimes that’s what you need.
Anything that “life changing” will require some contemplation, soul searching, and the need to be open minded. I’ve decided to focus on my guitar playing, especially my nylon string, while writing and composing more than I have in many years. Since I’ve settled, I written four new songs, a bunch of new fingerstyle arrangements, and started new compositions for solo guitar, chamber music, and an orchestral piece called “Oregon Odyssey”.
It’s been on the back burner for a while, but a project I’m calling EVOLVE; cinematic, dramatic, and atmospheric pieces combining with my keys and guitars with sample-based rhythm and background.
