I’ve always got a few projects going at the same time; it keeps me bouncing around a little and I don’t finish anything as quickly as I’d like, but it all seems to hold my attention.
We put together a couple of sets worth of material and went out looking for work. We got pretty lucky early on and started playing regularly at two Common House locations both Richmond and in Charlottesville. (A terrific venue for entreprenures to work out of! Check it out!) That lead to gigs at some of the wineries near Charlottesville, like Narmada and Hardware Hills, among others. Closer to the Richmond area, we’ve played at Ashton Creek Winery, Tavern 19 at Independance Golf Club, and regularly at Byrd Cellars Winery in Goochland. Our first single From Here to There is available now. Plus, we’ve got a couple of new ones; an original, St Lucia and our arrangement of the standard My Favorite Things are ready to be released.
Anne and I have a really varied repertoire that makes it a little hard to describe. At an R&W gig, you might hear a jazz standard, like Autumn Leaves, a singer/songwriter type tune like Carole King’s It’s Too Late or JT’s Fire & Rain, some ‘Yacht Rock’, such as Sultans of Swing, a Motown song like Heard It Through the Grapevine, maybe a rocker like Gimme Some Lovin’ or a cool ballad like Walking in Memphis.
